Greenpeace urges Hong Kong's Tsang to go to climate talks

Greenpeace said Sunday it has launched a campaign to press Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang to attend an upcoming world climate summit in Copenhagen.
The environmental group is asking the public for a donation of one Hong Kong dollar (12 cents US) to buy Tsang an air ticket after he declined to confirm whether he would go to the December meeting.
Greenpeace erected a portrait of the city's top official in a pedestrian street where citizens could toss their loose change into Tsang's "big mouth," it said.
Hong Kong had not made any pledge to reduce carbon emissions even as the southern Chinese city grapples with air pollution problems, Greenpeace said.
Last month Hong Kong's government said air pollution in the city equalled a record high registered in 2000.
